Vice President Jourová in Bratislava to pay tribute to murdered journalist Ján Kuciak and discuss media freedom

Vice President Vera Jourová (pictured) was in Bratislava on 20 February to pay tribute to journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová murdered five years ago, on 21 February 2018.

She participated in a ceremony to launch Ján and Martina week – a week-long commemoration featuring discussions, concerts, screenings and the publication of a book of Ján Kuciak’s investigative reports.

She also spoke at the Media Freedom Conference organized by the Slovak authorities and have a roundtable on the fight against disinformation led by GLOBSEC.

She met Slovak Republic Culture Minister Natália Milanová.
